Maruti Suzuki Sales Experience a 14 Percent Hike

Maruti Suzuki has proclaimed that its domestic sales have increased by 9.3 percent during the month of January. The rise has upgraded to 1,05,559 units as against 96,569 units in January 2014.

India’s largest carmaker Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) reported an increase of 13.9 percent in the total sales at 1,16,606 units in January 2015 as recorded against 1,02,416 units in the same period last year.

A brief introduction about the company: Maruti Suzuki India Limited, also referred to as Maruti and formerly known as Maruti Udyog Limited is an automobile manufacturer in India. It is a subsidiary of Japanese automobile and motorcycle manufacturer Suzuki. It had a market share of 37 percent of the Indian passenger car markets, as of November 2012.

Maruti Suzuki as a company manufactures and sells a complete range of cars from the entry-level Maruti 800, Alto, to the bigwigs like Ritz, Celerio, A-Start Swift, WagonR, Zen and sedans Dzire, Ciaz, Kizashi and SX4, in the ‘C’ segment Eeco, Omni, Multi-Purpose vehicle Suzuki Ertiga and Sports Utility vehicle Grand Vitara.

The company is headquartered at No 1, Nelson Mandela Road, New Delhi. The reach of its market can be acknowledged from the fact that in February 2012, the company sold its ten millionth vehicle in India.

Now, in 2015, as per the latest report the company has reached new heights in its success. The domestic sales have increased by 9.3 percent during the month of January to 1,05,559 units as against 96,569 units in January 2014 as per the company.

In a statement maintained by Maruti Suzuki, sales of mini segment cars such as Alto and WagonR, deteriorated by 7.3 percent to 35,750 units as compared to 38,565 units last year in January.

The company also proclaimed that the sales of the compact segment comprising Swift, Estilo, Ritz, and Dzire rose by 7.5 percent. The rise has stopped at 45,881 units in January this year as against 42,669 units last year.

According to MSI, sales of its compact sedan Dzire Tour have increased by 33 percent during the month of January under review at 1,378 units as against 1,036 units in last year January.

Maruti Suzuki’s mid-sized sedan Ciaz’s sales, which was launched in October 2014, stands at 6,005 units. Almost 191 units of SX4 sedan have already been sold by the company in January 2014.  But, there was no sale of the premium sedan Kizashi during the same time period.

Utility vehicles’ sales, such as Gypsy, Grand Vitara, and Ertiga, have also increased by 35 percent in January 2015. It is now at 6,432 units as compared to 4,763 units in the month of January last year.

Omni and Eeco vans’ sales rose by 8.2 percent to 10,113 units in January this year in comparison to 9,345 units in the same time zone of the preceding year.

The company elaborated further that the exports during the month rose by 88.9 percent to 11,047 units as compared to 5,847 units in January last year.
